Ford ESP - Premium Maintenance plan

Ford's Premium Maintenance program, is a comprehensive plan covering your regular checkups, routine inspections, preventive care and replacement of normal "Wear and Tear" items that require periodic attention.

This is the routine maintenance performed at each service:
Scheduled Maintenance
  • Change engine oil and replace oil filter
  • Inspect and rotate tires
  • Perform Multipoint inspection
  • Check and top of the following fluids:
    • Transmission
    • Brake reservoir
    • Power Steering
    • Coolant recovery reservoir
    • Window washer
  • Check the following systems / components:
    • Operation of horn, interior lights, exterior lamps, turn signals and hazard and brake lights
    • Windshield washer spray, wiper operation and wiper blades
    • Windshield for cracks, chips and pitting
    • Radiator, heater and air conditioning hoses for leaks and damage
    • Engine air filter
    • Oil and fluid leaks
    • Exhaust system (leaks, damage, loose parts)
    • Steering and steering linkages
    • Shocks / struts and other suspension components for leaks and/or damage
    • Accessory drive belts
    • Clutch operation
    • Inspect tires for wear and check air pressure

 

The following services are listed as a representation of the recommended maintenance for your vehicle. Your actual plan will be based on your Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicles maintenance needs as indicated in your Owner's Scheduled Maintenance Guide:

These are some of the additional items that may be covered at the various service intervals:
Additional Maintenance Items
  • Inspect brake pads/shoes/rotors/drums, brake lines and hoses, and parking brake system
  • Inspect wheel ends for play and noise
  • Inspect and lubricate steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, and if equipped, half shafts, drive shafts and U-joints
  • Change transmission fluid
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Replace engine air filter
  • Change premium gold engine coolant
  • Replace PCV valve
  • Change transfer case fluid, if equipped
  • If equipped, inspect and lubricate 4x4 front axle shaft U-joints
  • If equipped, lubricate 4x4 front hub needle bearings
  • If equipped, lubricate 4x2 front wheel bearings, replace grease selas, and adjust bearings

 

The following items are also covered if they fail due to normal wear:
The "Normal Wear" Items
        • Spark Plugs (except in California)
        • Shock Absorbers
        • Clutch Disc
        • Engine Belts and Hoses
        • Brake Pads and Linings
        • Wiper Blades

There is also a First-Day Renal option that's available if you'd like to have a rental vehicle while your car is being serviced. This coverage, if selected, also covers you for a rental while your car is in for repairs under the original Bumper-to-Bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Reimbursement is up to $30 per day ($36 for Lincoln) for up to two days.

* NOTE: Coverage for the Premium Maintenance plan begins at the Bumper-to-Bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty start date and zero mileage. And your vehicle must be less than 12 months old and have fewer than 12,000 miles to be eligible for it.
